February 23rd 2019 Dan asked me to marry him and it was one of the happiest moments of my life. I absolutely love hearing how people got engaged so in this story I will tell you exactly how we did!
Dan had asked me during the work week if I wanted to go to an ice castle. Obviously I was super pumped about it because I have never been to one! Saturday came around and I was getting ready at his place and he kept busy outside (which was weird) doing garage things. Usually when i’m over he can’t get enough of me! We finally started to make our way to the Ice Castle in Excelsior Minnesota . He had our tickets purchased already so all we had to do was check in. As we were walking through the beautiful castle we saw some flowers, a couple candles and a note. I instantly thought maybe somebody had died and it was a little memorial, so we walked up to it. Dan was pretty quite this entire time. As we started looking at this cute set up, I figured out what was going on! He grabbed the note and had me read it. It was a note I wrote to him before we even started dating. He proceeded to tell me that he wrote a note on that back of it that same day and all I could see was “I will marry you some day”. At that point I pretty much blacked out and don’t remember what he said after that! He got down on one knee and proposed! I obviously said YES! After a couple happy tears came down my cheeks I heard some screams. I look over and some of the most important people in my life got to witness the entire thing! Katie, Kenadi and Chelsey were standing there with cameras, go pro’s and the whole works. At that moment I couldn’t of been happier!
After the big moment we walked around and finished the rest of the Ice Castle tour as they told me all of the funny things that happened at the Ice Castle before Dan purposed. Kids were trying to play with the flowers. People were trying to read the note and the girls were trying to push people away from the area. Chelsey accidentally tried getting Dan and I out of the way as we were walking up to it, until she realized it was us! After we took pictures and everything the girls told me they planned a party at Katie’s that night!
We all headed back to Katie’s after that and we celebrated with all our friends and family. We were so excited to see all of the people that came out to celebrate with us, it meant so much! I couldn’t of asked for a better experience, it was everything I hoped for and more!
